Backstory (as we know it...)
One day, humans and monsters lived together peacefully on the surface. One day, the king of monsters invited the king of humans to a feast, the kids were playing, everything was fine! That is until the kings heard some ear-shattering screams! With the queen, the kings walked over to where the children once were playing, to their shock, there was a machine of some sort squished together covered in the blood-stains of the princes.
The king of monsters blamed it on the princess of humans, yet the king of humans blamed the prince of monsters. Thus the war
Decades later, just after the 6th human soul had been collected, the humans picked up on this soul ex machina, and as revenge, they launched a magical meteor down to the monster world and it did the following:
Steal the 6 human souls
Ruined all the underground and covered it in flames
And casted a curse.
That curse was that all born subsequent to the meteor impact would be on fire from the moment of birth. To free of said curse, they need the power of seven human souls. Thus the story begins.
